a full day of....

....of football!

a few weeks ago ~ yup, same theme here....slacker blogger ~ was our fall break from school....we started off that long weekend with an even longer day of football....actually it was 12 hours of football in . one . day!

first up...

UAB Blazers vs the Miss. State Bulldogs at Legion Field!

it was also a big alumni weekend so we were able to sit in the box and brett & grant went out on the field for warm up and to help form the line for the players to run out....

such a fun morning!!

even though they didn't pull out the victory, we still love our Blazers!

fast forward a hour and a half down the road to begin our next set of football games....we were able to watch all our nieces and nephews cheer & play football in one day....whoohoo!!....and even though it was a very long day, it was so totally worth it!!

and seeing as dear Isabella is not cheering, i thought i would share a few pics from her birthday! we were so lucky to be able to go with her to atlanta for a fun filled American Girl weekend in september!

....softball!

last weekend we trekked it up to cullman for a weekend of softball fun!!....we were VERY fortunate the weather was so beautiful because saturday were we literally there all day!....audrey's little team is pretty stinkin' cute if i say so myself....and yes, cuteness & good lookin' uniforms do matter :)

and i LOVE seeing those beautiful blue eyes through that mask....and of course, we have our bows!

and brother during all this??....playing with sweet friends! we were so LUCKY that right next to our field were two playsets....hallelujah!!

these two were quite happy to be back on a team together....they actually met on a softball field 3 1/2 years ago and have been amazing friends ever since!...

except that he has turned into our BIG boy....where has the time gone?!?!....a few weeks ago audrey spent the night off and brett & i were able to have some good ol' quality time with grant.....

he is such a great sport and always supports his sis....i feel like lots of our time is devoted to her softball or her gymnastics or her school or her camps and he is just tagging along for the ride....well, this weekend was a wonderful opportunity to devote all our time and attention to him....and i think he really enjoyed himself too!

our first real gorgeous fall morning....and we hit the park!

grant is so much more low key than audrey....i feel it's just the boy in him....he choose everything we did for two days....dinner was from a drive thru and then home to watch wrestling on tv....if that had been miss priss we would have been at a sit down restaurant and then to the movie theater! saturday was lots of playing outside & watching football....again, sis would have had us elbow deep in some sort of art project and then possibly the mcwane center!....but i am so thankful for each of their different personalities....it always keeps things interesting!

i had so much fun playing with my camera too!....as you can tell from the infrequency of blog posts, i haven't been taking a lot of pics lately....the park is always a great place to practice :)

oh how i LOVE all the many faces of this sweet boy!

he has finally learned to really pump his legs and swing himself! and wow, does he go high!!...no fear with that little boy...

by the end of the weekend, i think he was missing his sis....but we sure did enjoy all our time with him!
