a week in pics...

as i said in the post before, last weekend was spent for the most part by the pool at blake's house...thank goodness for a relaxing weekend because the week to come was a dosy!

monday ~ we came home to a bare yard....our big damaged trees were cut down....the yard is quite open now to say the least...but when i look around at the constant reminders of april 27th in my neighborhood i have nothing but total gratitude to God for sparing our house and our lives in these terrible storms...many were not spared...many homes were destroyed in our area....and our thoughts & prayers go out to those each and every day...

tuesday ~ a day at home with my baby boy! monday at school he spiked a fever....

tuesday we went to the doctor....diagnosis "yucky throat & swollen nodes"...what?!?!...ran a low grade fever all day....until about 6pm, then he spiked back up to 103!...

wednesday ~ as i predicted, the phone call from the doctor's office...."his throat culture grew, it's strep!"....well no duh!!!....really, when will you people listen to the mama!!...seeing as he was already home with his daddy it was easy to get him started on meds....and he was already feeling like a new child, see....

thursday ~ yet another child brought home to me with a fever, sore throat & tummy ache....ugh!!...but this time they actually listened and the doctor just called her in meds....whoohoo!! we were able to get her started on meds that night so by friday afternoon she looked like this already....

speaking of friday ~ my mom came up for a visit and surprised me with an amazing book....and i devoured it like a classic novel...i poured over each page, picture & recipe...oh that woman knows the way to my heart!

saturday morning ~ mom & i were up with the birds thanks to grant, so we made the best of it and took off for pepper place market....i LOVE strolling through the rows of scrumptious fruits & veggies, bountiful beautiful flowers, fragrant herbs, creamy cheeses, crusty fresh baked breads, amazing gorgeous art and more!....thank you snow's bend farm for brightening my kitchen table with these beauties...

saturday afternoon found us at a local crawfish boil....mom and i had been shopping around town and spotted this little gem about to ensue...and the best part, it was free!

the kids did not disappoint...they both LOVED the crawfish!...

it was a great end to a crazy week!

...and this week is crazy for another reason...it is the last week of school! unbelievable....wasn't i just walking audrey into first grade?!?!...wow...between softball practices, may day play day, zoo trips & more we should all be ready for the memorial day long weekend!

last weekend we took off to GA for some relaxation and family time....and boy was it well deserved & needed....we layed out by the pool saturday, had a nice adult dinner that night and then a good ol' pops sunday morning breakfast...

but in my ~ i don't want to move off the chaise lounge ~ state, i didn't take many pics....told ya, i was zoned out, soaking in the rays and enjoying the beauty of the day! but, thank you zoom lens, i did snap a few....from my chair!!

oh i can almost smell the salt, feel the sun & hear the waves crashing.....so ready for our beach trip with this same crazy crowd!!...it will be here before we know it!....until then we will stay busy with birthdays, allstars & much more!

...for my sweet first grade girl!

the children picked one of their spring pieces of writing to share with the class...it was cute because there were several different writings!

audrey chose her grandparent biography.....her story about her grammy!

she did so great reading in front of the class....and it was full of parents as well!

after the readings we had our picnic outside with our kiddos! i was fortunate enough to be able to leave work to be there, as was brett ~ though he didn't have to go quite as far!....sometimes this working mama stuff is hard but it always works out :)

after lunch audrey shared her most recent work with me....i loved listening to her read me all her stories!

i was so excited to get a pic with audrey & her teachers...these ladies have done a great job this school year!!

....ZOO!!

after grant's t-ball game mother's day weekend we hit the road to visit grams...she treated us to a day at the zoo!

we love the montgomery zoo!...ours here is great as well but the montgomery zoo is nice & flat and a little smaller....it also has a great park!

this was my first zoo trip with my zoom lens....i was LOVING it!

we had a wonderful mother's day weekend visiting family and enjoyed a great lunch sunday! nothing like a little sinclair's she-crab soup to make the day perfect :)
