summer fun...

...summer love!

this summer has been quite the adjustment for our family....it dawned on me about halfway through why i was in a bit of a *funk* this summer....it was my first summer since having my beautiful babes that i have worked full-time....ugh...when i was school nursing i was home, when i was flexi nursing i was home a good bit....but now i work...i am SO VERY GRATEFUL for the job i have, don't doubt that....but summers are HARD!!...the school year is fine, everyone is somewhere - separate, on their own....we all join back together at the end of the day....but each morning that i rose this summer at the crack of dawn and left my babes and my hubs i was sad...they had full-on "daddy daycare" all summer....i loved getting pics sent to my phone of the great things they were doing....i cherished when audrey would text to say hi....i was thrilled to know they were getting TONS of quality time with their daddy....and thank goodness for the countless amazing friends & family who made this summer so awesome!!...but i was sad...ok, there is my little pity party...i realize i will get used to it, but this first summer was hard....i think that is also why we made the absolute most of each and everyday i had off!! and i will treasure all the fun little extra memories from this summer....yes, again through camera phone pics - mine or brett's :)

fun things like a quick, impromptu visit to grammy's house...and watching my child try one of my childhood favorites for the first time...a fluffernutter sandwich!...marshmallow fluff & peanut butter...sweet goodness!

like, laughing & loving watching my sweet girl and her sweet friend put on a *concert* for me in our living room...the dance moves were just as precious!

one of THE best memories....catching lightening bugs in our pjs...such a precious moment...and such a southern summer night!!...the kids still ask every night to do it again...

at work getting cute pics of my kids sitting in the mouth of a big fish!....mcwane center - one of daddy's many field trips this summer :) the zoo was another favorite...

it is even harder to believe that this summer is over! school starts in a week....
